What could be better than spending your days exploring your county parks, learning about the natural world, and having some really cool fun at one of our youth or camp programs?

Youth Climbing Team
The Climbing Team and Climbing Club are made up of dedicated and ambitious climbers ages 7 to 17 who want to reach new heights through training and competition.

Summer Entertainment Series
Back by popular demand, this year's summer entertainment series will feature a variety of local and regional children's entertainers at James Island County Park's Edisto Hall and North Charleston Wannamaker County Park's Cypress Hall. Best suited for ages 3 to 12.

Camps
Our youth camps are very hands-on, activity focused, and of course, geared towards the success and safety of all youth involved. Camps are offered for spring break, winter break, and throughout the summer.

After-School Adventures
Sign up for fun after-school adventures! Join your friends or make new ones as you learn new outdoor skills, from rock climbing or paddling to an afternoon mountain bike journey. Search online for after-school adventures.

Scouting Opportunities
Charleston County Parks is pleased to offer exciting Scouts program opportunities from programs that meet badge and special project requirements to a fun day at the water park.

Group Nature & History Programs

Kids can learn about the environment and our rich cultural history through hands-on programs designed for groups. Our knowledgeable staff will work with you to ensure that your youth, scout or summer camp group’s educational needs are met.

Parent-Child Programs
Searching for activities that will entertain the kids and allow you to spend time together as a family? We offer a variety of parent-child programs. Rock climb together or canoe down the Edisto - we’ll teach you the skills you need and guarantee fun. Search online for youth and family programs.

Standards-Based Education Programs

Our environmental education and social studies education staffs offer standards-based education programs at nearly all of your county parks. If you do not find the program you need, our staff can work with teachers to create customized programs. In addition, our picnic shelter programs offer a variety of engaging curricula presented outdoor-classroom style.
