Accessibility

The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission strives to help visitors discover how our almost 11,000 acres of parkland can enrich their lives, promote physical and emotional well-being, and provide venues for fitness and peaceful respite. Collectively, CCPRC parkland accounts for 1.4% of Charleston County, the majority of which remains undeveloped. A significant increase to CCPRC’s holdings since 2005, combined with the original parkland properties, has created an extensive inventory of natural and cultural resources worthy of conscientious protection and thoughtful management.

Goal

The commission's goal is to go beyond mere compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) to provide access, as well as increased opportunities for recreation and participation. Your Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission is currently hard at work on an agency-wide transition plan to make all aspects of the agency more accessible and has put together an ADA Committee to offer guidance on accessibility issues throughout the park system. View Interim Rules & Regulations.
The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission is committed to accessibility, with reasonable accommodations, of our services, facilities, employment, and programs for all individuals, in compliance with Federal Law. Please email the ADA Coordinator or call 843-762-8075 if you need assistance.
