Ken Fink is a serious student of sea kayaking, an animated lecturer, an excellent hands-on instructor, and the originator of the symposium concept in 1982. An oceanographer (coastal processes) and geologist by profession - now retired - Ken is also one of the East Coast’s most experienced sea kayakers. He has paddled on expeditions to Labrador, Hudson Bay, Newfoundland, Iceland, Scotland, Hawaii, Queen Charlotte Is., Polynesia, the Great Lakes, Gulf Coast and the West Coast. He has been featured on instructional videos and on public television’s Trailside series in an episode about the Maine Island Trail. He is a regular speaker and instructor at symposia around the United States.
