Planning for the Future

Project Goal  The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission, through public workshops, surveys and research, will complete a Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Comprehensive Plan assessing the recreation needs of Charleston County.  Objectives The Comprehensive Plan will guide the agency in the following areas:  Identifying the future quantities and locations of parkland acreage needed to satisfy the recreation needs of the growing population of Charleston County Identifying recreation facilities and programs needed at existing and future parks Identifying a strategy for prioritizing, phasing, funding, and accomplishing the identified needs	Inquiries & Correspondance Julie Hensley Director of Planning Email Ph: (843) 762-8043 Fx: (843) 762-6159
Project Process Information has been gathered from the public through the following methods and will be analyzed to determine facility and programming needs at existing and future park facilities. On-site surveys Web survey Public workshops Focus groups
