Starfish Aquatics Institute is the certifying agency for Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission. Before each summer season begins, CCPRC acts as a training center for Starfish, instructing each of the lifeguards in the StarGuard curriculum. Full-time employees are Medical First Responders and Starfish Aquatics StarGuard Instructors. Seasonal Lifeguard Supervisors are offered the instructor class each spring before lifeguard training begins.
