CSTS Series Championship
One of the great features of the early years of the Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series was the race for the Series Championships. The reintroduction of the Series Point Standings in 2007 has created quite a bit of excitement and added even more intense competition.

The SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS will continue in 2013. A point system will be used to determine the Open/Elite Champions as well as the Series Champions in all age groups and Divisions (Athena, Clydesdale, and Masters). Points will be assigned for each race in the following manner:
- 1st - 100 points
- 2nd - 90 points
- 3rd - 80 points
- ...on down to 10th - 10 points
Eligibility
To be eligible for Series Championship Awards, three races must be completed with finishes in the top ten in the participants category. If a fourth race or fifth race is completed, the lowest point values will be discarded from results. The final race in the Series (August 11) will serve as the Championship Race and will count double points (1st - 200 points, 2nd - 180 points, on down). In the event of a tie, the highest finishing position in Championship race is the tiebreaker.
Age Groups
There is no way to combine two different age group (or division) results for an individual. If a person has a birthday that will move them into another age group during the course of the Series, they MUST race in their starting age group for the duration of the Series. We will try to make sure that a participant remains in their initial age group for scoring, but we need your help. If your birth date during the course of the season will move you into the next age group, the best way to help us would be to e-mail with a request to be left in the initial age group. The other method would be to make sure at packet pickup that the proper age group has been assigned. We will not be able to make adjustments post-race if a person competes out of age group. Each participant is responsible for making sure that they are racing in correct age group.
Awards
Series Champions (first place only) will receive specially designed awards at the awards ceremony following the August 11 race. In addition, the top three men and women in the Open/Elite Division will earn automatic entry into CSTS 2013.
Reminder
The August 11 Championship Race has always had the highest demand for entry. Be careful not to get closed out of this race.
