Group Nature, Environmental, Historical & Cultural Programs
roup Interpretive Programs Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission’s group interpretive programs tie past to present and heritage to habitat. Offered on a regular basis, your group may want to:
  • Discover birds with an expert
  • Get a fresh perspective on the Lowcountry with a naturalist and/or historian
  • Time travel while producing something beautiful in a historical craft workshop
  • Marvel at the universe in a portable planetarium
  • Learn edible and medicinal native plants
  • Challenge yourself in Master Naturalist training
If you are a member of a scout group, church group, nature society, or other organization that is interested in experiencing the wonders of the natural and cultural history of the Lowcountry, plan a field trip to one of your many county parks. Our knowledgeable staff will provide your group with one of the programs listed in this guide, or may design programs on topics of specific interest to your group.

Programs last from one to three hours and accommodate up to 25 participants per program. Multiple programs may be offered on the same day. Programs are available seven days a week. To plan a program for your group, call the Interpretive Program Coordinator at (843) 889-8898.
