Swim Safe Lowcountry
According to the Centers for Disease Control, an estimated 5,000 children ages 14 and under are hospitalized each year from near-drownings, and most of these accidents happen in backyard, residential pools. Here in the Lowcountry, surrounded by water, we face many inherent risks. It’s easy to learn and observe basic water safety practices.
Every child and adult in the Lowcountry should know how to swim.
  • Where do you learn to swim? Start here. The Lowcountry has many year-round swim lessons taught by American Red Cross certified instructors that are open to the public and close to home.
