The Genesis Project was established after the tragic drowning of a 13 year-old boy in Hollywood, SC named Genesis Holmes. It aims to raise funds to offer aquatic safety programs in the Johns Island, Awendaw/McClellanville, and Ravenel/Hollywood areas to reduce the number of drownings in Charleston County.
Waterpark Season Kicks Off the Swim For It Campaign
The Swim For It campaign is design to generate awareness and support for the Charleston County Parks Foundation’s Genesis Project by soliciting donations at the gate of each of the three Charleston County waterparks from May 4 through Labor Day. The donations collected during this campaign will go toward drowning prevention initiatives at the new West County Aquatic Center in Hollywood. We encourage you to come out, cool-off, and enjoy the waterparks this summer! When you do, be sure to leave a Swim For It donation at the gate.
