About the Instructor

Alexandra (Alex) Seaman has been teaching yoga in Charleston, SC since 2012. Her career began with Empowered Minds, a local nonprofit that works in partnership with the Charleston County Schools to deliver the tools of yoga and meditation to youth.

Alexandra SeamanIn the time since, Alex has taught 6,000+ hours of on-the-ground yoga to people of all ages and from all walks of life. She co-leads trauma-informed training for youth yoga teachers and launched her own Kundalini Yoga teacher training in 2019. Her passion lives at the cross-section of access and inclusivity.

Alex is also a copywriter and editor for an international yoga organization and was recently brought on to manage their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion effort. After the birth of her limb different 3-year old son, Alex became interested in yoga for the dis- and differently-abled, thinking even more creatively about adaptation and access.

Alex is trained in Kundalini Yoga through the Kundalini Research Institute, Hatha Yoga, Yoga for Addiction and Recovery, and has earned 4+ certifications in child-specific yoga, including one for incarcerated and at-risk youth.
