Dreaming of a white Christmas? Add some snowy splendor to your home this holiday season with a DIY snow globe! This project is so easy and makes for the perfect decor piece or homemade gift that will be treasured for years.
Supplies
- Glass jar with lid
- Distilled water
- Glycerin
- Small holiday figurine (Item should be made of a water-resistant material and should be smaller than the lid of your jar)
- Glitter
- Water-resistant glue/epoxy
Instructions
Gather your materials. Make sure your jar and lid are cleaned and dried thoroughly.
Glue your small figurine to the underside of the lid of your jar. Set aside and let fully dry. (Be sure to review and follow the instructions of your glue or epoxy. Some adhesives may state that they have a drying time of up to 24 hours for the product to fully cure.)

Pour the distilled water into your jar until it is almost full.

Add the tiniest drop of glycerin to the water. If your jar is larger in size you may find that two small drops of glycerin are needed.
Adding too much glycerin can make the water thick and chunky, so we recommend using caution with this step. That said, we highly recommend that you don't skip this step as the right amount of glycerin helps to suspend the glitter in the water, giving it the snowy effect.

Add your glitter to the jar, using more or less depending on how snowy you’d like your snow globe to appear.

Once your lid with your figurine has fully dried, carefully screw the lid firmly into place.

Make sure the lid is on very tight!

Turn your jar upside down and give it a good shake as you watch the snow fall around your holiday scene!
