Take a Story Walk

Once upon a time there was a path at North Charleston Wannamaker County Park where children of all ages could combine the joy of reading with a walk in the woods. Storywalk is a partnership between Healthy Tri-County, Charleston County Public Library and Charleston County Parks.*



Skate A Park


Check out SK8 Charleston! It's just $1 for spectators or $3 to participate.

Pedal Your Parks 


If you don't have your own bike, rent one of ours for $4 per hour + $5 deposit at James Island County Park, Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park, or North Charleston Wannamaker County Park.*

Paddle Your Parks*


Kayak and pedal boat rentals are available at James Island County Park, Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park, or North Charleston Wannamaker County Park starting at $4 or less (plus $5 deposit) per half hour. 

Rattle Some Chains


The disc golf course is free, and you can rent discs for $5 at The Outdoor Zone at James Island County Park (18-hole) or at North Charleston Wannamaker County Park (9-hole) if you don't have your own set.*

Other Fish in the Sea


So reel one in at the Mount Pleasant Pier or Folly Beach Pier for $3 (Children under 12 and seniors 60+), $4 (Active Military), or $5 (Adults).

Big Fun


The Big Toy playground is free with park admission of $2 per person at Palmetto Islands County Park.

Free Fun for Fido


Take your best friend out to the dog parks at James Island County Park, North Charleston Wannamaker County Park, and Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park.*

Magic, Music, & More


James Island County Park and North Charleston Wannamaker County Park host some really great acts for kids during the Summer Entertainment Series. Just $4 per child in advance ($5 at door and chaperone is free).

Spray Play at James Island County Park and The Sprinkler at North Charleston Wannamaker County Park are free all summer long!*

Archers Rejoice


The archery range at Johns Island County Park is just $1 per person (equipment not provided).

Get High!


The Observation Tower at Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park offers a bird's eye view 50 feet high.*

Walk It Off


Equestrians, walkers, and joggers will love the trails at Johns Island County Park. They're just $1 per person!

Bike It


For only $1 per person, the Wannamaker North Trail offers 13-miles of mountain biking fun for all experience levels.
