Our annual youth triathlon at James Island County Park is an excellent opportunity for youth to experience a lake swim in a safe, well-monitored course. After the swim, participants will race the shaded paths and roads inside the park on the run and bike course.
Race Registration
Register online for $55 per child. Registration ends Wednesday, July 22. No race day registration.
Event Details
- Race starts at 7:15 a.m.
- Packet pick-up will be held onsite race day 6 - 7 a.m.
- Participants ages 11-15 will complete a 200-yard swim, a 4-mile bike, and a 2-mile run.
- Participants ages 7-10 will complete a 100-yard swim, 2-mile bike, and a 1-mile run.
- Awards ceremony will be held on-site after the race.
- Bibs and helmets are required.
- Water stations will be set up on the course.
- Bikes should be race-ready. Emergency bike repair will be offered.
- Participants will receive free entry to Splash Zone on race day. Finisher medal must be presented to gain entry.

Optional Swim Clinic
Youth Tri Swim Clinic registration is optional for an additional fee.
This race is open to triathletes of all levels, including beginners. Accessible parking is available at the event site. Accessible port-a-let at event site. Open water swim. The swim starts in the water from a wading position. Charleston County Parks Emergency Services team will be in position on the water and the lake bank. The bike route is inside the park on roads and paved trails. Loop course with water stations.
