Charleston County Parks is pleased to offer exciting program opportunities for Scouts that meet badge and special project requirements. Troop leaders can also arrange a customized program at any county park.

The 654-acre headquarters for Charleston County Parks’ natural and cultural history interpretive programs department is Caw Caw Interpretive Center. Scouts may participate in a variety of programs designed to meet badge and special projects requirements or arrange a customized program at Caw Caw or other county parks. Located within James Island County Park, the 50-foot tall Climbing Wall features 4,500 square feet of climbing wall space and accommodates 12-16 climbers at one time. The Boulder Cave adds another dimension to the wall, with over 300 holds and 1,000 square feet of climbing surface. Scouts may participate in a variety of climbing programs designed to meet badge and special projects requirements. The Challenge Course at James Island County Park provides adventure-based learning for individuals and teams seeking growth and inspiration. Featuring group initiatives along with low and high elements, the course promotes collaboration and problem-solving. Each challenge is tailored to meet your group’s goals and objectives.
