Echoes of the Past - Shaping the Future

Join us for An Evening at McLeod, a special event featuring musicians from the Charleston Symphony in support of the Charleston County Parks Foundation’s Cultural History Fund. Experience the rich historical significance of McLeod Plantation Historic Site as it comes to life through powerful musical works, including Charleton Singleton’s Testimony, Florence Price’s Adoration, and Jessie Montgomery’s Strum. Enjoy a display showcasing the talent of local African American artists and hors d'oeuvres prepared by Carolima's Lowcountry Cuisine.

About the Cultural History Fund

The Cultural History Fund supports the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission's cultural and historical research, preservation, interpretation, and education for diverse audiences throughout Charleston County Parks. The fund is currently focusing on cultural and historical education opportunities that foster a more equitable society, by expressing a unified narrative of African American history, culture, heritage and art at McLeod Plantation Historic Site.
